We’re pleased to announce the May Hero of the Month Sacha McDonald.
Our sporting region wouldn’t be what it is without her.
Every now and again a role model comes along that creates great interest for our organisations that we can’t help but be impressed. Edenhope’s Sacha McDonald is no exception. From an early age Sacha clearly demonstrated that nothing was going to hold her back from achieving her dreams.
Despite being rurally isolated this didn’t stop her and with the full support of her parents she started the long journey towards her goal of one day representing Australia. Didn’t matter whether this was tennis, basketball or netball, Sacha put her head down and bum up and took every opportunity afforded to her. Now we see that Sacha has been selected in the 17 and under Tall Athletes Program by Netball Australia after impressing at the recent nationals.
36 athletes have been selected from across Australia and only 7 from Victoria. What a great result. So to Sacha McDonald we say well done and what a wonderful role model you are for young girls in rural Victoria.
