31 Jan Club Leadership 2018
CALLING FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST!
The Club Leadership Program is going to be up and running again in 2018, starting in mid-March. The program has been running for 6 years with 6-12 people participating each year.
There will be an information night at the Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly at 5:30pm Wednesday 14th of February.
Participants are generally high school students or have just finished their schooling, and must be a representative of a sporting club.
To complete the program participants undertake a number of modules and accreditations including – Governance, Risk Management, Event Management, Future Club Development, Sports First Aid, Introduction to Taping, RSA and a Coaching or Umpiring Accreditation.
As part of the course participants also volunteer 4 hours per week at their club, so they are putting into practice what they learn in each module.
Club Leadership is great for participants as it prepares them for a career in the sporting industry as well as adding to their resume at a young age. For clubs it is equally rewarding as it gives them a chance to encourage their young members to volunteer at the club.
You are urged to spread the word of this program throughout your club and have discussions around enrolling young members in Club Leadership. This is a course that allows clubs to get their members quality accreditations at a much cheaper price than usual.
