Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly was pleased to be part of Harmony Day at Horsham College, joining the school community to celebrate cultural diversity in the Wimmera while encouraging young people to get active through sport and recreation.
As part of the day, WRSA delivered a range of fun and inclusive activity stations for students to enjoy, including table cricket, quoits, bocce bowls, cornhole and tenpin bowling. The activities gave students the chance to participate in a relaxed and engaging way, while highlighting that being active can be simple, social and enjoyable for everyone.
The event also provided a great opportunity to promote local sporting pathways for young people, with WRSA sharing information about the current Badminton Horsham and Horsham Soccer Club come-and-try programs. With both clubs currently welcoming new participants, the day was a valuable chance to connect students with opportunities to continue being active beyond the school setting.
It was fantastic to see students getting involved with enthusiasm and enjoying the activities throughout the day. Events like Harmony Day are an important reminder that sport and recreation can play a powerful role in bringing people together, building confidence and creating a sense of belonging across diverse communities.
