Wimmera Talent on the National Stage: Foundation Support and a Special Visit to Natimuk Gymnastics
The Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly team was proud to visit Natimuk & District Gymnastics Club in July, where we met some of the region’s most dedicated young athletes and coaches following on from their success at the national championships.
The club’s vibrant energy and commitment to excellence were on full display during our visit, which included a tour of the facility and a shared meal with club members. It was a privilege to spend time together, hear their stories, and witness firsthand the community spirit that makes this club such a special place.
We’re also delighted to share that four members of the club – Remi Bailey, Edward Jones, Lynette Morrow, and Meagan Silvers have recently received financial support through the Wimmera Sports Foundation to help cover the high costs of training, travel, and competition for the National Championships that was held in Queensland.
- Remi Bailey delivered a standout performance at the Australian Gymnastics Championships, earning two bronze medals and helping his Victorian team secure third place in the Level 8 Open division.
- Edward Jones also represented Victoria with pride in the Level 7 Open teams event, contributing strongly and just missing on a medal.
- Lynette Morrow and Meagan Silvers, dedicated coaches at the club, were also supported through the Foundation to ensure the clubs athletes was prepared and well-led on the national stage.
The Wimmera Sports Foundation exists to break down financial barriers for talented local athletes and coaches, ensuring opportunities are based on potential and passion, not postcode. Support is available year-round for those aiming to reach the next level in their sport.
