The Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly (WRSA), in partnership with the FedUni WestVic Academy of Sport, is proud to announce the successful launch of the Wimmera Coaches Collective — a new initiative designed to unite, educate, and empower coaches from right across the region.
Held at the Fed Uni Auditorium in Horsham, the inaugural event brought together coaches from community sport, schools, and regional programs for an evening focused on leadership, athlete wellbeing, communication, and practical coaching development. The goal of the Wimmera Coaches Collective is simple: to grow great coaches, together.
Elite Speakers Deliver World-Class Insight
The night featured an all-star coaching and athlete lineup who delivered powerful, practical sessions:
Clint Proctor
CEO, Badminton Victoria; former Box Hill Hawks Head Coach
Clint explored the realities and opportunities of regional coaching, strategies for building strong teams, and the influential role coaches play in the overall success and culture of a club.
Alana Forster
Paralympic medallist, dual para-cycling World Champion
Alana shared her personal journey of resilience and gave a unique insight into the athlete experience — emphasising trust, relatability, and understanding athletes as individuals with their own goals and motivations.
Tim Decker
VIS Endurance Cycling Head Coach; Wimmera local
Tim closed the night with a leadership masterclass, covering themes such as the “honeymoon period,” building a legacy, reflection as evolution, the power of the debrief, and what it truly takes to coach at your best.
A Network Designed for the Region
The Wimmera Coaches Collective was created in response to strong feedback from clubs and coaches who have identified a need for more support, connection, and professional development opportunities within the region. Coaching often focuses so heavily on supporting others — this initiative ensures coaches themselves have access to growth, inspiration, and peer connection.
This new network will continue to evolve, offering further opportunities for workshops, discussions, and shared learning across sports.
Get Involved
WRSA is inviting coaches, clubs, schools, and sporting organisations to be part of the growing Wimmera Coaches Collective network.
