The Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly is saddened at the passing of Chris Young last month.
Chris’ many achievements in lawn bowls and golf included being awarded Wimmera Sports Star of the Year in 1990.
In lawn bowls, Chris represented Victoria and won state singles titles including the Victorian State Singles and the Victorian Champion of Champions. Upon his return to the sport he also claimed 2 over-60s state titles to add to his multiple pennant victories at Chalambar and Horsham City.
Chris also achieved many club championships both in lawn bowls and golf at Chalambar, and also recently represented Australia at an over-60s bowls tournament in Cyprus.
Most of all Chris was a mentor, gentleman and avid contributor to sport who will be greatly missed across the Wimmera.
The Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly extends its sincere condolences to family and friends of Chris.
