Locks Construction joins as Silver Partner for 40th Wimmera Sports Star Gala – the partnership highlights the link between local infrastructure, safe places to play and sustainable community sport.
The Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly (WRSA) is delighted to welcome Locks Construction as a Silver Partner for its 40th Anniversary Wimmera Sports Star of the Year Awards, to be held on Friday 13 February 2026 at the Horsham Town Hall.
Based in Horsham and servicing the Wimmera region since 1995, Locks Construction has built its reputation as one of the region’s most respected commercial and domestic building firms. Their projects include civic, education and private developments across western Victoria. Their decision to partner with the 40th Anniversary Wimmera Sports Star Awards reflects their ongoing commitment to local community infrastructure and grassroots sport.
The 40th Anniversary Wimmera Sports Star of the Year Awards will recognise athletes, volunteers, officials and community sport leaders from more than 220 sport clubs and groups across the Wimmera, including Horsham, Stawell, Nhill, St Arnaud, Dimboola, Kaniva, Edenhope, Warracknabeal, Murtoa and Hopetoun. Over 150 guests are expected at Horsham Town Hall, including past award recipients, local media, club presidents, community leaders and sporting figures.
The partnership with Locks Construction’s reflects something important about sport in the Wimmera. Community sport doesn’t just rely on talent, it relies on places to train, places to host and places to belong. For decades, local builders and volunteers have been side by side keeping those spaces safe, usable and welcoming. We’re proud to have Locks Construction standing with us in this 40th year. Locks Construction’s history in the region has included delivering and supporting buildings in civic and education settings, the same environments that often double as training venues, game-day hubs and community meeting points.
The Wimmera Sports Star of the Year Awards is one of the region’s longest-running community sport recognition programs. For forty years, the event has celebrated not only standout performances, but also the people behind the scenes: volunteers who prepare facilities, officials who give up their evenings, and families who travel across the region so that kids can compete.
The Gala Awards Night at Horsham Town Hall is an opportunity for new partners to be visibly aligned with local sport and community leadership. We’re actively inviting additional partners to come on board for the 40th Anniversary Gala. It’s a chance to publicly stand with community sport across the Wimmera, to support the volunteers and emerging talent in the region, and to be recognised in front of a room that brings together clubs, media and decision-makers.
