Inclusive Spirit Shines at 2025 All Abilities Bowls Carnival in Stawell

07 Oct 2025

The greens at Stawell Bowling Club played host to one of the region’s most inclusive sporting events in September, with the 2025 Mallee Sports Assembly All Abilities Bowls Carnival attracting players and supporters from across western Victoria.

Mallee Sports Assembly in partnership with Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly, Sports Central and Bowls Victoria, the carnival brought together 86 participants, carers, staff and volunteers for a day celebrating access, participation and community connection through bowls.

Travelling from as far as Ararat, Warracknabeal, Nhill, Horsham, Alfredton and Bendigo, attendees made the most of the perfect spring weather and the welcoming environment provided by Stawell Bowling Club. The venue’s accessible facilities and adaptive equipment ensured people of all abilities had the chance to take part.

Stawell Bowling Club’s volunteer members again played a pivotal role in the success of the day, assisting on the greens, BBQ and around the clubrooms to make sure every participant felt supported.

This event is a fantastic example of regional collaboration and the power of sport to create welcoming spaces for everyone. It is a great reminder that the true value of sport lies in the friendships, confidence and community spirit it creates.

The carnival has become a regular highlight on the All Abilities sporting calendar, which promises to build on the strong foundations for future success.

Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly is proud to support initiatives that celebrate diversity, strengthen community ties, and ensure that sport is open to all.
